What is SMPS

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a community of marketing and business development professionals working to secure profitable business relationships for their Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) companies.

SMPS offers members professional development and leadership opportunities and marketing resources to advance their careers. SMPS is a network of over 7,000 marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the US and Canada.

Here they share their exclusive experience of completely switching to a virtual program for their annual conference with Airmeet.

What was the event

Hosted by the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), “Build Business” was a premier educational event for marketing and business development professionals. It was a week-long, annual conference that included 700+ attendees networking exclusively on Airmeet and interacting with each other.

What were they looking for

They were looking for a virtual event platform that could replicate the experience of a physical event. Their primary goal included enhancing community interactions, networking, and engagement. They were also looking to leverage ice breaker opportunities and boost communication among attendees.

Most loved Airmeet features

Attendees were delighted by the Network Lounge feature with virtual tables, with the flexibility to move around between tables. The attendees could interact more freely on Airmeet as compared to other platforms.

SMPS appreciated Airmeet’s clean design and user interface with interactive functionalities that promoted ease of use.

SMPS speakers loved the Backstage feature where they could practice before going live. The interactive feature allowing Emojis and reactions in real-time helped the speakers feel like they were being heard and appreciated by the audience, adding to the excitement.

Way forward

SMPS team is planning to host a few networking events in early 2021 for its attendees beyond North America, thus becoming more globally inclusive. They feel Airmeet is a great way to create that bridge to connect interested or curious groups.
