What is “Platform for Artists”
‘Platform for Artists’ is a community that looks at opportunities for co-creation, collaboration, and creative engagement among artists. Their work scope encompasses building a healthy ecosystem for artists in India, uplifting and empowering artists, and spreading awareness about the work and functioning of their community.
Pawan Rochwani, Founder, ‘Platform for Artists’, shares his experience hosting their virtual event via Airmeet.
About the event
The small business owners’ meet was organised in October 2020. The meet was an online flea market that included discussion platforms where 1500+ business owners could meet and share their struggles during the pandemic.
The meet also aimed at Platform for Artists getting a better understanding of the needs of artists and how they could plan better virtual events to meet their needs.
What were they looking for?
Pawan says, “We were looking for a virtual event that would give us the same feel as a physical event. We wanted the community to come together, engage, and have conversations with each other. We aimed to retain the involvement of attendees through meaningful engagement until the end of the event.”
Platform for Artists had hosted a few virtual events using Zoom and Google meet. However, they weren’t pleased with the engagement features there. In the meantime, Pawan had attended another virtual event on Airmeet and enjoyed the experience. So, he contacted Airmeet with three must-haves:
2. Ease of use
3. A platform that was easily accessible
Most loved Airmeet features
The feature Platform for Artists loved and used the most was Social Lounge. Both the organisers and the participants were thrilled that they could interact and network in sub-groups. The community organisation was delighted with the fact that they didn’t have to initiate conversations. They felt that the conversations were animated, free-flowing and all present benefited a lot from the event.
Platform for Artists also appreciated Airmeet’s ease of use. They said that, “All artists aren’t very tech-savvy. Hence we had some apprehensions. But Airmeet’s interface was so easy to use that none of our artists had any issues navigating through the event or accessing the various spaces.”
Platform for Artists is planning to partner with multi-disciplinary communities across India. They believe that these partnerships will help them form new connections, venture in new directions, and most importantly, expand their understanding of the field of art. Pawan added, “All these events will take place digitally, and I guess Airmeet will be our main medium of collaboration.”
One of the immediate events planned in this direction is a collaboration with students and mentors of Ashoka University — a university for liberal arts and sciences.
Platform for Artists plans to explore Airmeet further and host their upcoming events using Airmeet.
