  • Do not require your attendees to access the event via mobile devices. 
  • Do not require many integrations over virtual event customizations, especially Eventbrite. 
  • Do not require booths to represent their brand or even customizations. 
  • Do not require on-demand replay of the events. 

Use Hubilo if:

  • You are a small and medium business, association, event management company, and education institution.
  • Planning to host a webinar, networking, or an expo online event. 
  • Need dedicated support during the day of the event. 
  • Have a budget of $99 for 50 registrations per organizer. 
  • Require engagement and networking features like 1-1 chat rooms, virtual booths and lounge tables for 16 people. 

But keep in mind that, 

  • You do not require sponsored booth-level chats in your event management software. 
  • You need limited customization when it comes to event entry rules. 
  • Your branding customization is limited when it comes to the Reception area of the virtual event.

Their next plan (the Starter plan) starts at $41.58/month and comes with 1200 registrations per year for advanced event planning and management. 

Hubilo, on the other hand, comes with a Basic plan that is priced at $99/month/organizer. This plan does not include the Backstage area or even the chat or customer support. The plan, however, only comprises Mailchimp integration for your event marketing needs.  Their next plan is an Advanced plan at $799/month that is applicable for 100 registrations.

Undoubtedly, both platforms come with a list of agile features that depend on the type of virtual events and virtual conferences being hosted. However, Hopin clearly has the upper hand in the virtual events space with its freemium plan when it comes to its pricing.

2. Security Specs

Hopin offers compliance with GDPR and CCPAA. All the data is encrypted and also outsources PCI-DSS to a level 1 service provider. 

Hubilo offers GDPR compliance along with data encryption and protection, backup recovery, and ISO 27701:2019 and ISO 27018:2019 certifications. Hubilo offers users an extra layer of protection with unique ids and passwords backed by strong encryption mechanisms.

It’s a tie!

Both platforms offer stringent security when it comes to their customers. They both ensure no data is leaked and conduct regular internal audits for vulnerabilities in their virtual event infrastructure.

Hopin’s approach to integrations is to help event organizers improve their productivity and help increase attendee engagement. As of now, it offers a vast range of integrations which includes,

4. Marketing and Registration

Hopin is an all-inclusive virtual and hybrid event platform that offers email marketing, referral programs, reporting and analytics, and registration on its platform. It includes a ticketing system and has a varying commission.

On the other hand, Hubilo offers email marketing, analytics, registration and ticketing, and payments minus any hidden charges. It does not include a referral program in its pricing structure. 

Who wins here?

Both the platforms come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. While Hopin does offer multiple integrations that ease the marketing and registration process, its ticketing commission can often be a deterrent in selecting it. 

5. Networking features

With Hopin, you get more networking opportunities in real-life events, hybrid events, and even virtual events. It offers polls, surveys (with 3rd party integrations), private video chat, custom reception area, group, or even 1-on-1 chat within sessions. The platform lets you host full-scale events that can be made invite-only with just a click. 

In Hubilo, event attendees can chat, ask questions and answers, upvote, create breakout rooms, speed networking with other attendees, offer content, and gamify the overall experience. 

Who wins here?

Hubilo’s most used features like its gamification and AI matchmaking in speed networking capabilities take an upper hand. Hopin also does not include a 1-on-1 meeting scheduling feature.

6. Analytics dashboard

Hopin’s analytics dashboard can be accessed from the Overviews tab. You can get the number of sessions created, your active sponsor booths, registration details, details on the top country, and ticket sales by type. 

Besides, during the event, you can also access the details for turnout, the NPS score of the attendees, and the overall time spent in the event. The report also lists the event segments that include the most chat message exchange, a list of top expo booths per interaction, and the most active attendees as per the time spent in the event. 

And last but not least, after the event has ended, you are also given the total number of registrations, the number of countries represented, turnout rate, average time spent by the attendees, number of expo booth visits, and more. 

In contrast to Hopin, Hubilo recently updated their event analytics dashboard and offered a robust event outlook, often represented by graphs. The current analytics includes real-time data of page views, users, event registrations, unique users, average session time, pages/sessions of the event website. 

It also provides a breakdown of ticket sales and revenue generated, key stats in the mobile app (app downloads, total users, logged-in users, app activity), and other attendees, event engagement, and feed details available in numerical or graphical forms across devices. 

Who wins here?

When it comes to analytics, there is no safe bet here as both the virtual event platform offers the same analytics or more. While Hopin comes with pre, post, and during analytics reports, Hubilo can emerge as a winner if you need data on how many attendees used the mobile app.

7. Customer support

While this may not sound like an important feature, customer service acts as the perfect safety net when juggling multiple things simultaneously. 

Hopin offers 24/7 chat messenger and email support along with Knowledge Base access in all its plans. The higher-end plans include (Business and Enterprise) onboarding and training sessions. 

Hubilo only offers chat support and access to their Knowledge Base in their basic plan. The more expensive packages include onboarding and training sessions. It is only in their Pro and Enterprise plans that you get on-call support and email support. 

Who wins here?

Customer support defines increased sales and builds customer loyalty, but cherry-picking between Hopin and Hubilo might prove difficult as both offer 24/7 customer support only in their higher-end packages.
